My middle grade story, “The First Adventure” is the superhero origin story of a twelve year old girl named Harley who isn’t a fan of the whole superhero gig. In fact, she’d like nothing more than for her superhero father to hang up that cape and retire to a ranch in Colorado. Even his bribe of a sidekick, a talking, teleporting pug named Peanut Butter, isn’t enough to make her accept his dangerous job.
But when someone tries to steal Peanut Butter from her, she discovers a string of sidekick pet thefts. A reluctant Harley decides to investigate, and what she finds is bigger than anyone expected. Harley will have to decide if she is brave enough to use her power to take a stand for what’s right.
